The SALE is Still ON!

I love sales!  When i received text messages and even notice in magazines and newspapers and even announcement on radio that a certain shop is going on SALE oh my women goes gaga!  Especially those women who shopped almost everyday of their life.  I am not yet totally done with my shopping because of financial reasons but i know i will still be able to do so.  I don’t worry because sale is still going on.  How i wish i have so much money so that i can buy a new camera and a watch for my mom. :)   Am not goin to stop wishin who knows Santa can read this.  :)

Save the Animals

If you are a vegetarian in your lifetime you will spare the suffering of
six cows,
22 pigs,
30 sheep,
800 chickens,
50 turkeys,
15 ducks,
13 geese,
seven rabbits,
and one half ton of fish.

Imagine?  That’s a lot of animals!  And that is a lot of animals for each for a billion people in this plannet.  But how come it will never ran out of supplies of chicken and fish. hehehe

Oh well, the holidays are coming but you will never find any meat product in our ingredients comes Christmas dinner and the new year dinner.  And together with our pasta, we will also be preparing enough green salads and maybe also a bowl of thickly sliced cucumber.   We would still be cooking common Filipino holiday dishes but we would not use meat instead we will use meat substitute.

How Jackets Make Us Warm

I love to wear jackets.  I enjoyed the warmth of it during winter times years back.  But now, am in a country where wearing a jacket calls only on occassional times, just when it’s raining hard.

Do you every wonder how jacket help us?  Why we love to wear them and how they warm us?  According to what i read it says –

Dark colors absorb light energy.  Light colors and white reflect light entery.   when light shines on your dark jacket, the jacket fabric absorbs light energy.  The absorbed light energy causes electrons in the atoms of the jacket to vibrate.  This activity releases heat, which makes the jacket0 and you – warmer.

The short article i was reading shows an image of adults wearing dark colored jackets.  Back in china, i got 2 dark colores ones but one time, i bought a yellow one and a white one. :)   Now that i hve read this, in the future, i will grab a dark colored one again.

Winter Fashion

Winter still means fashion.  Actually fashion is according to one’s style.  Before winter comes i love shopping for winter clothes at the beginning of the Autumn season.  For three years, i was using a long cut down jacket that really kept me warm especially when there is blizzard and the snow is deep.  When the cold sets in, I began shopping for scarves, mittens, and caps.  I am not in China nowadays but i’d like to share with you a site that sells cutie beanie for your own use or for a gift to a friend or a love one. Check out the site because they have sales for today.

It’s a must to cover your head when going out during winter time so that you will not be sick with winter colds.  Heat from your body can regulate the warmness in your body when you are really covered head to toe.  Have tried that. 

We’re Eating Crunchy Fresh Veggies

Yeah we are.  Beginning last week, the fresh veggies we are eating at home are very crunchy.  We are always vegetable eaters (cooked or fresH) but not as crunchy as we are having them now.  I asked my mom how is she preparing it?  She said, she soaked the veggies in a brine (i think it’s of salt and water).  Then to make the spray toxins washed off, before soaking it in brine, it has to be soaked too in water that has charcoal.  I love the way am eating fresh veggies at home now.

Another good news, for more than 3 weeks now my mom is not into any medication.  At first it was due to financial reasons but she continued eating fresh fruits and vegetables.  The other night when she took the meds, she felt weak and nauseous and decided she will stop taking meds altogether.

Exit Signs

Exit signs are very important specially in big establishments and they should be located at the right place and at a place where everyone can see it.  Exit signs should be clearly visible day and night.  The hospital exit sign here is colored red against white and that’s is what i see in most hospitals.  In shopping malls  i see green signs.  In theaters i see red exit signs.  Which one would be your preference you will not have a hard time ordering it from experts like at exit signs warehouse.

Have you tried entering the exit area and exiting at the entrance area?  Oh well, me and my friends often make mistakes on the later.  hehehehe  But we do it often in shopping malls.

And one common place that i see an exit sign is at a drive-though section of a fast food.

Sweet Potatoes

Hmm that’s yummy!  We had that for lunch yesterday and i think i ate 4 pieces of the regular size.  Ate it with the peelings on as my mom cleaned it thoroughly before having it boiled.  What can we get eating sweet potatoes?  According to the Health and Home magazine Jul-Aug edition:

” Sweet potatoes contain – ounce for ounce – more iron, vitamin A, vitamin E than white potatoes.  They’re full of fiber and antioxidants like betacarotene.  Sweet potatoes are great baked, with a little orange juice and cinnamon flavoring, or peeled, or cut into sticks, lightly coated with olive oil, and roasted for about 20 minutes in a 400 degrees Farenheit over.

Natural Sleeping Pill

Am not used to sleeping early for several years now.  I find it good at times when i have so many things to do online.  But bad at times when i do really want to sleep early.  So in times when i can’t sleep right away,  I find reading as my natural sleeping pill.  Have you tried it?  When you have tried drinking warm milk, taking warm shower, watched a boring movie and yet, you can’t still sleep?  Well, try reading.  I have used that all these years.  Whatever book i hold on, after ten or 15 minutes reading, i fall asleep especially when am laying down reading.

On the other hand exercise is also the best way to lose weight.  Coupled with diet it’s the natural way to shed off that excess pounds.  There are many forms of exercise and sports is one of them.  Golf i categorized as one of a challenging sports.  I haven’t tried it myself but another friend does.  She purchased her first golf clubs after saving for a year of tryout in the golf fields. She said it is her kind of exercise and sports.

Mood Boosters

For many years we did not have one not until i moved into my current house.  There was a stray cat that never leave.  After a year, that cat gave birth and after multiple births we just have to excile them.  4 cats were left and of the 4 three were gone and presumed dead.  Only one left, a female, and not long after gave birth to an only baby cat.  i really hate cats but as the little kitty grew, i found out that it brings happy moments to us.  It helps us alter our moods – from grumpy one to a lighter one because you just can’t help but to play with her because the moment you step out of the kitchen door, the mom cat and the baby cat are tehre to greet you with their loud greetings and the baby cat ready to grab your the sole of your foot or maybe your slipper.  If your mood is really bad you can kick the cat away but if you can control it, you end up smiling and playing with the cat.  So i can say, though they bother us at times with their foul shit, they make us laugh even when we don’t feel like smiling.  They are great mood boosters. :)   We love them. :)
