DEFEAT DIABETES
Diabetes, if left untreated, can lead to heart disedase, stroke, kidney failure, even death. My family is worried of me getting this illness because they think i am too overweight. So they are encouraging me take any means to shed off my excess weight. My friends suggest that i should try weight loss pills because it might work well for me because it worked on my friend who shed off 40 pounds after using it. OH well, i will try.
Now let’s continue on the steps on how to defeat diabetes. Sandra Gordon suggested the following:
1. Don’t gain weight. Most people develop Type II diabetes are obese. “Excess weight makes your pancreas work harder to produce extra insulin,” says Priscilla Hollander, MD, an endocrinologist at Baylor University Medical Center in Texas, USA. Eventually your pancreas won’t be able to keep up, insulin levels fall, and diabetes results when glucose builds up in blood.
2. If you have diabetes and are overweight, shed just 10 to 15 pounds, and you can improve your symptoms.
3. After age 45, have a fasting blood glucose test every three years to gauge the amount of glucose in your blood (126 mg/dl or more indicates diabetes); if you’re at increased risk for diabetes to have one yearly.
