Want a Healthy Baby?
Every couple, smoking or non-smoking couples, want to have a healthy baby. But if you want to have a healthy baby, then quit smoking. Not just stop temporarily but quit smoking smoking forever.
Why? The following are results of comparable study between smokers and non smokers men and women.
Compared with nonsmokers, men who smoke:
- are twice likely to be infertile and to have damaged DNA in the sperm. (this is really scary).
- are at greater risk for impotence.
Women who smoke:
- take longer to conceive.
- can suffer more miscarriages.
- are at a greater risk for cervical cancer.
Women who smoke and take contraceptive pills:
- are more prone to heart diseases.
- are more likely to have an early menopause.
Babies of smoking mothers/parents:
- will more likely be affected with placental implications and premature membrane rupture.
- are more likely to be premature and low in weight.
- are in greater danger of perinatal death and SIDS or crib death.
- usually acquire respiratory illnesses, especially asthma.
