Purpose of Fiber Foods

According to the NEWSTART (Nutrition), fibert foods is a very important factor in nutrition because fiber acts ike the scrub brushes in our bodies to keep our digestive system clean and functioning well.  Foods high in fiber are fresh fruits, and vegetables, and whole grrains.  Meat, milk products, and refind foods tend to clog the system, leading to disease.  Research has shown that a great deterrent to many forms of cancer is a high fiber diet.

On Whole Grains

Whole grains are very important to a well-balanced diet.  At least four servings a day of breads, cereals and other grains should be eaten.  Whole grains are much higher in vitamins and minerals then refined products.  The whole wheat bread or brown rice is much more satisfying and will hlep to prevent overeating which leads to obesity. I have heard the above points since i was still very young but i always insist in my food choices so i am ending up now as very overweight.  My aunt told me that my overweight is the cause of my skin allergy as i thought of seeing a doctor for a  skin care check up.  I got small spots and blisters on my underarm area and it’s so itchy.  I guess it’s because of the chicken and beef ive eaten last week.  So i guess it’s now hightime to really start full time vegetarian. :)

For the Love of Food

I love food and i love to eat!  That’s why I am sure i need a appetite suppressants so that i can control my craving. Especially pre period days i crave for comfort foods like lots of carbo and something spicy.  At times i can control but most of the times i can’t so my weight is a proof of it all.  Oh well who just can say no to these foods?

The Original Diet{Nutrition} 1

The original diet consisted of fruits, vegetables, grains, and nuts.  Only later after the flood was the optiona to flesh food given to people on earth.  Scientific research has proven that the basic original diet is still the most healthful.  By eating foods which are in their natural state, unrefined and without additives many diseases conditions reversed.

Protein can be obtained from many sources other than meat.  Dried peas or beans are excellent sources of protein, especially when eaten with a whole grain such as brown rice, wheat or oats.  Nuts are also a good source of protein but should be used sparingly due to high fat content.

Everyday we should include at least four or more servings of vegetables and fruits.  Leafy green vegetables should be eaten freely; other vegetables, including potatoes, liberally; citrus fruits or juice , tomatoes or other foods high in vitamin C, daily; other fruits liberally such as melons, apples, plums or pears.

Caring for the Sick

I have experienced interviewing new nursing applicants.  When i asked them why they are pursuing the nursing course, almost all of them answered “to care for the sick.”  Oh well they are right but in my opinion even if one is not a professional nurse he or she can still care for the sick.

It’s now another start of a new school year and still we have enough new enrollees of the nursing course.  I guess pursuing a health care career will still go on in spite of the crisis.  How do i know?  Many are still calling and inquiring.  Even online there are list of available jobs for health care professionals.  Oh well I wish them all the best.

Being Careful

In everything we do and whereever we are we should always be careful.  At the moment here in our campus, people are so busy getting ready for the coming first day of class on Monday.  Yesterday, while one part of the office is being fixed, someone’s hand was cut.  Blood was everywhere in the area where it happened.  I am not sure now what happened to the person as i haven’t seen him afterwards.  So everyone is reminded to be careful. 

If possible one can avail a disability insurance so that there would be no problem in serious cases of accidents especially while at work. In America, Allsup is a leading provider of financial and healthcare related services to people with disabilities.  My aunt’s patient is being supported by this insurance since she fell off the ladder while working at the hospital. 

I hope that the guy that was accidentally cut yesterday is now alright.

Spiritual Retreat

Last week-end the adminstration, faculty, and staff of MSH College went out to Mid-way Beach for a spiritual retreat after the 2 days Colloquium held just inside the campus.

Many of us look forward to this once-a-year activity and this is my second year to actively participated in the program and spent the week-end at the resort.

Friday evening, we had the foot washing before the communion service:

Saturday morning program was also inspiring as there was a renewal of commitment.

The afternoon program was the fun-filled activities.  We have to move out of the resort because their was an overwhelming number of people that reserved the whole area from that Saturday morning.  We held the AY at the Initao Forest and we were divided into 5 groups.  I belong to the 2nd group.  We were to alternately perform 5 activities for the shortest of time.

I enjoyed the activities so much that i forgot to take photos except for one activity —

Everyone that participated really enjoyed.  Even those who did not participated enjoyed observing each group perform.

It was a great one day break.  It’s just what we all need.
