FTF # 22 – Shakoy For Free

P9100184

Pick one if you like. We locally call this “shakoy”. I dunno how this is called in English. If you know the right name please comment me.

Since last week, the hospital sponsored a Revelation Seminar and i was one of the staff that assist it. We have met for 2 weeks already and every night, just before the meeting, the attendees can enjoy a light snack. This shakoy was served last week. I got 2 kind of puto photos in my file. I hope i can share them in the future.

Looks very nice but somewhat unhealthy. I would love to try one.

@ Luna – i think we can call that ‘twisted donuts” in english. hehehe…haven’t had this with coffee. I seldom love desserts na deep fry eh.

@Willa – uy sana andito si Patrick when that was served. For sure he would love that. :)

@christina – this is really unhealthy for those who are blood pressure conscious. this is just great for the active young ones. :)

this is like a twisted donuts; i miss eating this one; they sell it in mexican store or bakery, but pinoy version is still the best for me :-) .

We use to have this for merienda when we were kids. Our maid would usually buy this from a local bakery. Is this the same as Bicho-Bicho being sold in the malls?

13. arlene commented on September 23, 2009 at 6:23 pm

@Jeng – no jeng, this is not the bicho bicho one. the bicho bicho is starchy and more sweeter than this one.

@Jacris – i can understand. Pero if araw arawin mo yan, am sure you will not miss it lagi. thanks for visiting back.

@ Lulu – i think i got an idea of what you mean na shakoy na cassava. that’s the one that looks like plato or big plate. with lots of latik in the center? dami yan sa Camiguin – at the entrance of Katibawasan Falls.
