Rested in the Hospital

I bet it is best to say I took a short vacation and spent it in the hospital.   It is not so nice to be resting in the hospital but because of some circumstances beyond our control, we really have to spent some time there.

I got myself admitted Wednesday evening because I was already having a hard time breathing and my cough was making me crazy.  I thought it would just be a two days rest but ended up into four days.  Though I felt tired waiting for the time to go home, yet I realized that I was really rested.

I got discharged Monday morning Pacman and Marquez where on the fight, then am back to work since yesterday.  I still have an occasional cough but I felt so much better already.

I am now residing home and my internet is not yet connected there so I have no choice but to sleep earlier than usual.  So I missed working late nights.  But hopefully by next week, I can have my connection back as tomorrow I am going to complete my relocation of internet connection process.

Rest is really important and now I believe it.  Sleep is the #1 thing that suffers when one fails to rest.  When one thinks there is much work to be done then sleep time is really affected.  Now, after this admission, I will really try.

I Can Feel It!

I haven’t seen the weighing scale since last week and now I can feel that my lost pounds is back.  I can feel it! And it is sad.  You may ask me “why and what happened.”  Oh well, I was busy the weekend and  I did not let any meals passed.  I also had a serving of rice almost during the two meals each day. Saturday night, I ate lots of squared pizza. I was so full but yet tried to consume the durian shake served by Iliganon.  I really pigged out that night.

Monday and Tuesday, I was just home.  Trying to relax and get that long wanted leisure sleep but then my mind is also pre-occupied with finishing all my laundry and then ironing the dried laundry so that I can start packing for home.  I did not cook any decent meals except for noodles. Gah! Bad habit!

I had a nap for 3 hours last night and now I am wide awake.  I should have been asleep so that I can get up at 6 am to walk. Hmp I have so many reasons.  i wonder when would I ran out of reasons for missing out an exercise. Hahaiii

Okey, this is all for now.  I need to do some fillers for multiple blogs.  Thank you God for blessings.

Anyway, here’s my latest photo of the biggy me.

Avoiding Junk Foods

If you look at the dictionary, junk means garbage. But if you talk of junk foods, they mean the type of foods young people and even kids love so much these days. Dieticians also refer to them as empty foods or the empty snacks but yet they satisfy our palate.

Last weekend, I went away to Bukidnon to spend time with friends. There were occasions that we had some junk foods. I so love it. But whenever I consume much of these foods, I need to drink more than a liter of water but since I am on a travel, I controlled my water intake because I don’t like to feel uncomfortable when am already traveling. So after two days, I started to feel some pain in my lower back. UTI? I really don’t know. I did not go and have a urinalysis. But I felt that kind of pain when I am not eating healthy foods.

I resisted this bag of chips yesterday. ^^ Fortunately I was successful.  If ever I am given the chance to visit the place again, I will carry healthy foods so that everyone can enjoy it without feeling guilty.  It reminds me of the titanium cufflinks a friend is asking me to check out in Gaisano of which I forgot because I stalled at the grocery area. I should do that errand tomorrow if I can get free by PE time.

Suggested healthy snakcs for kids are:

  • fruit based cookies
  • vegeburgers
  • fresh fruit juices
  • fruit shakes

DARE Result

The DARE days were over last Sunday evening.  I missed the last dinner because I was so tired and woke up past seven in the evening already.  Good thing I did not woke up hungry.  I just had some warm drink later in the midnight.

Result?  I lost another 3 pounds.  Now I am praying that in the next weeks to come, I won’t gain back the 3 instead lose another 3.  I feel it is a challenge for me to lose 3 pounds in each week because I don’t eat regularly or at least regular breakfast.  I really need someone to prepare my food.  It is hard to cook 1 cup of vegetable dish every meal.  So it would be nice someone prepares the food for everyone and then I will just pick a serving of it.

Another thing to note, this is my first time to be a bit conscious of how much calorie I can get from a certain food.  I guess from now on, I should memorize the common foods I am eating like, a cup of rice, a serving of green vegetables, cooked banana, ripe table banana, bread, etc.

I found a calorie counter that I like using to check the number of calories a certain food have.  Check it out you might also like it.

Is your drinking water safe?

The water at my end my end is not.  So we order our water from the water market.  Purified water is being delivered into our dorm subject to the order.  We just order our water because the water that comes out of our faucet is not safe to drink.  It rans out from pipes of long time ago plus we are in a hospital campus.   The water delivered to us have  undergone the reverse osmosis process that is why the water is safe to drink. Same thing with our drinking water here in the dormitory as well as in our office. All these waters are being delivered because our tap water is not that safe to drink.   I believe that water cleanse up our body so it is a must to drink the normal 9-10 glasses a day.  2 glasses before breakfast, 3 glasses in between breakfast and lunch, then another 3 glasses in between lunch and dinner, and two glasses later between dinner and bedtime.    That should be the ratio but at times, I just can’t drink that much.  I need to discipline myself to drink that much.
