Air Pollution

I went to the city at lunch break because i did some little shopping at the same have a pedi. I know i can’t get away from the office at exactly 3 pm so I had the pedi earlier at noon. While on the way, the jeepney i rode on stopped infront of the university gate to get more passengers. Then i inhaled the fragrance that i really detest so much. Guess what? Some guy is smoking outside the jeepney while calling for more passengers. Cigarette smoke plus humidity is equals to an environment that i wanna be in it. That is why, in spite of the campaign to stop smoking, cigars are still being manufactured because there are just those who can’t stop smoking.  These guys just didn’t realized that they are polluting the atmosphere and the more they are polluting their body.  All I am wishing is that they realized that they should have their health check from time to time so as not to be ill with cancer in the future.

Itchy Itchy Thing

One of the most uncomfortable skin problems is eczema . One time in my life i did experienced that but good thing it was cured. Now a friend is experiencing it and she has already spent a lot for medicine yet it still come and go. I advised her last month to see a dermatologist but the ointment given did not work well. So i told her to try the cream am using for my face and voila! it worked!

I will experience skin allergy (too much protein reaction) if i ate too much protein – whether it comes from meat or from high protein legumes.  When that happens, aside from ointments and lotion applied, i also take some weeks diet from food that will provoke the skin eruptions.

The Power Nap

Since am working in an office daytime, power nap for me should be after lunch time.  Though i have experienced for many years that power nap is very effective for recharging our body, yet for some past years, i did not practice yet.  Lately, i want to do it regularly because it makes me still active even a half day full of work.

Last night, we slept so late because of the water.  We were waiting for it to come back.  I crawled to bed at past 1 am already so i almost missed buzzing the bell at 5:30.  During the worship i was soooo sleepy that after worship i went back to bed and sleep until 7 am.

It is still 10:47 but am looking forward to my power nap.  My mind is sort of unsure which to do, power nap or go to the COOP for some transaction and go straight to the mall to look for christmas photo cards which we will be using the next week. Oh i still have to go to the telephone company to have our internet connection cut. I have to cut it because our pc is not working these days. It’s good for the junkshop now.  I don’t like to think i will pay 1 month of the subscription and am not using it.

So maybe today, i will miss this power nap again.

REST – Relaxation and Sleep (Part 1)

Life today is fast paced, exciting – and exhausting.  Is  more sleep the answer?  Not always!  A refreshing, uninterrupted night’s sleep is a define advantage, but the issues are considerably more complicated.  Most people work at sedentary jobs, with deadline pressures and emotionally draining problems.  The people  often find it difficult to fall asleep or rest peacefully.

Sleep is very essential to maintain a well-balanced mind and healthy body.  During sleep your blood pressure goes down, your pulse rate decreases, your breathing slows, your temperature lowers slightly.  If you deprive your body of adequate sleep, great demands are made on your back-up energy resources.  If you this habitually, you can expect to live your life “on the edge,” with little resistance to disease and stress.

I snagged this from meaning of TEMPERANCE and this is for letter R. It’s always my wish that at least once a week i will have an uninterrupted sleep. These days that am back exercising, i feel i sleep better than before.

Part II will be continued next post.

The Importance of Air

According to NEWSTART, a human being can survive several days without food, a few days without water but only a few minutes without air.  This one element is very important to life.  Without air a person will die and can have permanent brain damage within 5 minutes.

Spending long hours in poorly ventilated rooms can result in drowsiness and make it difficult to concentrate.  The reason?  Too little oxygen in the air.  Shallow breathing and blockages in the respiratory tract can make your entire system operate sluggishly.

Ways to get more air into our lungs:

  1. Open your windows and let in the fresh air!
  2. Exercise in the fresh air.  This will strengthen your breathing muscles and increase your lung capacity.
  3. Practice good posture habits.  Sit up straight with your shoulders back.  This will increase your ability to breath more deeply.
  4. Concentrate on breathing more deeply.  Consciously take several deep breaths.  This will clear your brain and cause you to be more alert and feel more alive. :)

I wish everyone a nice day today!
