Always be Prepared

One way to avoid the pressure of stress is to be always prepared – emotionally, physiologically, and financially. Because if we are prepared, no matter what calamity strikes us, after some time of grieving, we have no choice but to continue on living. We may lost all our properties in natural disasters but if you are prepared like having home insurance and auto insurance, at least when life gets back to normal, a company can look over your needs.

A big earthquake just hit Japan and i know in a months time some auto insurance companies will be busy with car insurance claims. If you will see footage video of the tsunami, you can see cars big and small being caught in the current of strong waters. The waters has subsided now but you can see cars in upside down position. People are still so much pressed with other matters than thinking they have lost their cars.

Personally, i always have this deep longing to be always financially prepared in case I will get sick or my daughter gets sick.  I have not yet started but one day I will be in that direction.

Stress in the Classroom

As we are approaching the end of the semester, I realized that the students are getting more pressured while complying their academic requirements.  I can sensed it even in my own classroom.  A class of 14 yet i can see in their faces that they are not that prepared to take chapter tests or any small quizzes to measure if they have understood what they have taken up.

So last week, Monday, i gave them a group work to be performed on Wednesday.  I told them they will have two grades – a group grade and an individual grade as I can see which one is really active in making their skit or illustration very clear to everyone.  We all had a great time.  I told them to describe and portray the ebusiness communication gadgets or the machines that makes an office be called an “electronic office” and Conference calls was among the acts they played. The group assigned in teleconferencing protrayed, video conferencing, audio conferencing, and the computer conferencing. They did not just portrayed but their props are just so great. They made dummy TV’s, dummy computers, dummy keyboards, dymmy mouse and sound system.

When they had that activity, i sensed that they were more active compared to when i just discuss the lessons and they listened. One even mentioned last night if we are going to have group work again. I told them…we will see. =)

Am just excited for the sem to be over. Now i know one way to break stress in the classroom, let the students do a group work like role play. =)

Longing for a Stress-Free Holiday

It’s the holiday season and one of my friends is really stressed out.  I tried telling her not to be stressed but it seems that there are so many things that are causing her daily stress.  Yesterday we went out to the mainland to pick some supplies and electrical products like briggs and stratton but all the shops are close. All hardware shops are closed. She checked it online last night and she found it. I think she had live chat with one of their customer service and she was satisfied of the services. The only thing that did not make the transaction a success was, the person who can bring the item for her from the States will not leave until the end of January and she need these parts now.

Anyhow, i like to tell my friend that stress bombards us daily but it is up to us if we wallow in it or strive real hard to think positively of the things.  What may bother us at one moment will just eventually turn out alright in the end…so we should not worry.

One of the Things that Makes Me Happy

When i receive mails like these,  they relieve my stress.   Because i just keep on smiling and smiling then i forget that am almost at the end of my day’s patience.   I just love cards and i love my cards mailed as cards.  But for some who love to share with me stamps of their place then they send me card in an envelope.

Aside from collecting cards, i also collect stamps, a hobby i started when i was still a small girl.

Job for Him

A classmate of my brother came to visit him last week. He just drop by for some tee a tee with my brother. I guess it’s been awhile they haven’t met. They talk about life and my brother discover that his friend is jobless. My brother is jobless but not totally because currently he is working on a daily basis at Holcim. So he encouraged his friend to go and see their classmate who is now working for a big construction company and so for sure they might have some construction jobs vacancy. So when his friend left, he sort of felt happy with a hope that another classmate can help him.

In this times, it is really had to be jobless.

I thank God for my job.
