DARE: Third Time – Monday and Tuesday Food

I enrolled again in the DARE program – my third time.  This time, I promise to document each day the food we  eat.  Today is the second day.  I should have started posting yesterday but finished doing my stuff so late.  I have so many pending posts to do but due to tiredness at the end of the day, my brain seems unable to function to write.

Anyhow, let me feature Day 1 & 2 Food.

MONDAY – FRUITS

The juice is the lovely reddish pink made of beetroot or red taproot.  It was served morning and lunch.  The first time I had it, I cannot take it.  But the second time and the more now, I do love it.

Fruits is a mixture of apple, pine apple, and watermelon for breakfast.  Then for lunch, mango was added. In the evening, papaya was added.

TUESDAY – VEGETABLES

Vegetables made up our food today, Tuesday.  Vegetables were cooked water base.  The camote tops were served RAW. The misua soup was so yummy with no trace of oil.

Possibly tomorrow, we will be back to fruits.  It’s going to be the third day.

If you have questions regarding this program, you may contact me privately.  This DARE – Dietary Approach to Reduce Excess Weight is a program of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department of Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital, Iligan City.  Offered once a month and every session, it’s getting a good number.

DARE Result

The DARE days were over last Sunday evening.  I missed the last dinner because I was so tired and woke up past seven in the evening already.  Good thing I did not woke up hungry.  I just had some warm drink later in the midnight.

Result?  I lost another 3 pounds.  Now I am praying that in the next weeks to come, I won’t gain back the 3 instead lose another 3.  I feel it is a challenge for me to lose 3 pounds in each week because I don’t eat regularly or at least regular breakfast.  I really need someone to prepare my food.  It is hard to cook 1 cup of vegetable dish every meal.  So it would be nice someone prepares the food for everyone and then I will just pick a serving of it.

Another thing to note, this is my first time to be a bit conscious of how much calorie I can get from a certain food.  I guess from now on, I should memorize the common foods I am eating like, a cup of rice, a serving of green vegetables, cooked banana, ripe table banana, bread, etc.

I found a calorie counter that I like using to check the number of calories a certain food have.  Check it out you might also like it.

Battery Problem? Oppss

I lost my original Canon point and shoot camera battery last May when i attended the Cebu blog camp.  I really can’t imagine where in the world the battery went when it was my sister who plugged it out from the charger and she said she placed it in my bag.  Anyway, it was only 1 pc of charger because it is an ion battery.  I won’t for sure have a hard time if my battery is an aa rechargeable batteries because I can buy it at the store anytime. So the whole day my camera was of no use. The next day, I was able to buy a China made one and that is what I am using now. It is not as good as the original because it depletes it’s power so fast that for several times I missed photo opps too because battery life is gone so fast. My plan now is to another piece of this battery to be ready for plenty of photo ops when we go to Manila in November.  I must be prepared.

Am on DARE program again but haven’t taken a single photo since we started Monday morning.  I will do so just next month maybe. ^^ We are 8 people in the program this month and hopefully next time we would be more.  It’s doing good.  I am not wishing of losing so many pounds but at least I can lose some 3 pounds this week.  It would really be good then.

DARE: the Second Time

Started it again yesterday. For 7 days, I am going to eat in the Nutrition and Dietetics Department. Our food, the prescribed for the DARE program. Again, DARE means Dietary Approach to Reduce Excess Weight. As of yesterday weigh 178 lbs. I am not aiming to lose 6 ore more lbs but at least 3.

I am still so busy at work so I don’t have time to go to the gym or even wake up early in the morning to do some jumping jacks. The sauna suit I purchased last summer is now mad at me for not using her.

Now am off to post my Food Quote entry.

Tomato Day!

Today is the fifth day of our DARE program (don’t ask me the meaning now because i forgot but am going to post the information of the program later) and we call this tomato day.  All our food comprises of tomatoes (fresh and a bit cooked).  Check out the photos ^-^

BREAKFAST

LUNCH

DINNER

Because it is Saturday, a special day, we had tomato bread and tomato juice.  I so love the juice. I had 3 medium glasses of it.  So i end up going to the bathroom almost every 20 minutes when i arrived in the dorm.

The juices today are:

BLENDED PURE TOMATOES

We had this tomato juice for lunch. I thought I will not like it but I did.  The ice cold temp made me love it more.  That’s made up of ripe tomatoes.

NOTE: All foods are vegetarian.  We had some egg in the morning together with the tomato salad but it was just egg white.  The tomato bread is made up of wheat flour.

WATERMELON TOMATO JUICE

We had this for dinner.  But the taste is common as I can taste it like watermelon shake.

So that’s our food for today and everyone looked forward to the next meal.  Tomorrow, it’s carb loading day and I will share my photos for weekend eating. ^-^
