Wedding Anniversary Gifts

I love weddings! Even if i hadn’t had my own wedding, yet i always love everything about weddings. I feel excited for a someone when she is on the preparation stage because there are so much to prepare and one thing to always remember is — it should be special! I just love that condition. Special! Why? Because wedding day is a very special if not the most special day in the couple’s lives. It is a sign of love and commitment blessed by God.

After the wedding prep that includes the bridal shower, wedding days comes, then honeymoon. After the honeymoon trip, work and married life comes in rolled into one. And before the couple could realize it, their First year wedding anniversary will be at hand. Then that would be the time to know what are the anniversary gifts by year so that they will have an idea if ever any of their visitors asks.

Just timely, a friend of mine whose wedding i attended almost a year ago is now planning for their first year wedding anniversary celebration and at the moment she is busy with the invitation and program for 50 special people including me. (wink)

First Anniversary: Paper

I wish that one day in the future, i will be able to celebrate my paper theme wedding anniversary so that i can receive my 1st wedding anniversary gifts from friends. But for sure before that happens i will need to put up a sign in my office door or best at Facebook the – wanted husband or wanted groom sign. Whichever sounds better. lol!

Job for Him

A classmate of my brother came to visit him last week. He just drop by for some tee a tee with my brother. I guess it’s been awhile they haven’t met. They talk about life and my brother discover that his friend is jobless. My brother is jobless but not totally because currently he is working on a daily basis at Holcim. So he encouraged his friend to go and see their classmate who is now working for a big construction company and so for sure they might have some construction jobs vacancy. So when his friend left, he sort of felt happy with a hope that another classmate can help him.

In this times, it is really had to be jobless.

I thank God for my job.

Job Hunting

My sis said it is now high time for her to do some job hunting. I dunno how will she do it but probably off line. She will try to apply in the hospital for a volunteer slot in the Rehab Center. She said she will appreciate any job but what she wants now is something related to her the course she took in college. There is are several construction jobs ad within the city but she said it is not for her this time. She does not want heavy physical job.

I told her to also check the job offers online as there also job offers abroad.

Latest with a Chopsticks

Last night I had a moment with a pair of chopsticks. I was thinking on what to have for dinner. I was already hungry and the quickest thing to bite is to make some pancit canton. Some of the packets were already swarmed with ants so i cooked them them all – 4 packets. I was drooling while imagining that i would have a lot of pancit canton. Good thing Ma’am JD had some so i was not able to devour them all.

I started having mouthfuls of pancit canton using the chopsticks. I ate it the chinese way. I placed the noodles in a flat dish so at the end of the meal I was already having a hard time eating the last small amount so i used spoon. I smiled to myself because i started with chopsticks and ended with a spoon.

It made me recall that while in China, i don’t like having bowls as meal or dinner plates. When i invite people (friends and students) i like them to have a taste of how we serve food my way so i use plates. We use bowls for soup. Then they explained to me that chopsticks is hard to use when using a flat plate because they have a hard time picking the last morcel. Now i can understand as i have experienced it last night.

Over in China, i own more than 3 dozen pairs of chopstics and at least a dozen chinese bowls for meals.

Some said that chopsticks is a way for someone to eat very little that is why it can induce slimness. =) This did not happen to me. hehehe

I was reading the July issue of Reader’s Digest last night. I note down all the websites mentioned in there thinking that I will take time to check on them when I am free. There are several of them including this online insurance quotes. I remember that i was tasked to browse online for an affordable car insurance so I am thinking that this site will give me more options to be given to the boss. I still have a long list of sites to visit so I can’t wait for the weekend to do this.

FT & FF – Jackfruit if You Like

I am one of the persons in the world who do not like nangka (jackfruit) very much. I love the smell, but the means of cleaning it up to be eaten curb my appetite to eat. I don’t like to feel the mess in my hands. The tagok (tar) is just too much.

My mom knew that am this kind of person so at times, she lovingly clean some meats for me and id enjoy eating it. if i can have more than 3 whole pcs of this then am done eating. The color and fragrance makes my mouth water. But if i see it still in it’s shell then i can give it up even for nothing. =)

The one photographed here? They said it’s very sweet. But i never tasted it. hehehe…Do you like to have some? Then feel free to grab one.

Netbook for Her

My daughter’s birthday is coming up. If my finances will just let me then i thought of getting a netbook for her as a gift. I read in yahoo news today the top netbook picks for a student. For a student! So for sure student life does not need those complicated specs and features for the time being. The important thing is that they can use their netbooks for researchable homeworks where ever they are or whenever they are on the go. One thing i also want to check if it has a extended laptop warranty because the product will be purchased from the states and then it will be used in the Philippines. So i think one year warranty would just be too short. An extended warranty would be an a great purchase option. Right?

I did not make any promise to my girl but hopefully in the soon future, she will also get her own laptop.

A netbook or a better cell phone? Hmmm deep thinking…I hope any of this will motivate her to study harder. =)
